"Promoting Access to Justice for Women in Morocco" is designed to help local NGOs design and implement court accompaniment programs for women in their communities. It contains guidance on providing court accompaniment from a human rights perspective, strategies for program volunteer recruitment, staffing and management, techniques for legal counseling and assistance, information on relevant Morocco and international laws related to common legal problems faced by women here, and a detailed guide to monitoring the courts and analyzing court decisions and the treatment of women by the justice system.
We are pleased to announce the publication and
distribution of our two new Morocco office publications to promote women's
human rights:
- Network Building for Women's Rights: A
Practical Guide for Young Activists in Morocco
- Promoting
Access to Justice for Women in Morocco: A Practical Guide for Local NGOs
"Promoting Access to Justice for Women in Morocco" is
designed to help local NGOs design and implement court accompaniment
programs for women in their communities. It contains guidance on providing
court accompaniment from a human rights perspective, strategies for program
volunteer recruitment, staffing and management, techniques for legal
counseling and assistance, information on relevant Morocco and
international laws related to common legal problems faced by women here,
and a detailed guide to monitoring the courts and analyzing court decisions
and the treatment of women by the justice system.
"Network-building for Women's Rights" is targeted at young
activists in Morocco to reinforce their capacities to work in networks to
promote women's human rights and help make their voices heard on the
national level. It contains information on effectively working in,
advocating and fundraising in youth networks, with a particular focus on
feminist management principles and integrating a human rights approach into
daily operations and practices.
The guides were made possible
through the generous support of USAID/Morocco and MEPI. They are in Arabic
but an English language summary is integrated into the Guide. If anyone is
interested or if these would be helpful for any of your programs or partner
NGOs we'd be happy to speak with you about them.
