Employment Uncertainty and Family Dynamics, 02-03 July 2009, Berlin, Germany
Keywords: Cursuri & Conferinte
Tags: social employment
Joint workshop of the French National Institute for Demographic Studies, the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research and Stockholm University
An important question of this workshop is how the changes in the employment domain affect fertility
and family transitions. How do different types of employment uncertainty relate to entry into union,
entry into parenthood and the decision to have further children? What socioeconomic and cross-national
differences are important? What is the role of gender?
What is the interplay of the couple’s employment situation and family dynamics? How important are state
policies in mediating the effects of employment uncertainty on childbearing and family dynamics?
Language: English
Fee: Travel expenses and hotel accommodation will be paid by the workshop organizers.
