The training course aims to create more short-term EVS hosting projects that are able to host young people with different social problems.
The European Voluntary Service (EVS) has proven to be a good tool of empowerment for young people with social problems. The periods abroad have become a popular way to learn new cultures, to get a break from young people's own daily realities, and to build a new identity. There are a lot of long-term projects in EVS, but less projects that could host short-term volunteers with more challenging backgrounds.
We are looking for participants who work directly with young people with social problems, but have not started hosting ST EVS volunteers yet. However, they are interested in starting EVS activities and want to do international youth work. The participants should be interested in international co-operation and having an opportunity to start hosting ST EVS volunteers.
The Finnish National Agency will cover all the training, accommodation, and food costs. The sending National Agency should cover the participants' travel costs. Please check with the National Agency of your country whether they intend to send participants to this training course before you apply. You can find their contact details below.
