The Centre of Hydrogeology (University of Neuchâtel) and the Wathab-Unit of ICRC propose this 8-days intensive course to engineers/scientists dealing with Watsan issues in emergency situations. Focus is put on technical skills and awareness of public health issues, links between public health, water and sanitation in disaster-stricken populations. Instruction will essentially take the form of case studies based on real situations, practical field work and simulations.

Intended Audience
The
course is designed for engineers and scientists interested in a
humanitarian engagement in the domain of water and sanitation.
They must have a university or equivalent degree and be highly
motivated. Prior experience in the domains of water supply, wastewater
treatment, health and/or sanitation is welcome.
