The post holder will investigate the impacts of acute nitric acid pollution events on soil microbial nitrogen cycling in the High Arctic tundra, using molecular microbial ecology approaches. You will work as part of an exciting new Marie Curie training network (NSINK) that aims to comprehensively investigate the fate and biogeochemical cycling of nitrogen in the high Arctic. Applicants must have a good degree (or equivalent) in a biological or environmental science subject


   


Scholarship / Financial aid: £23,766 per annum plus additional allowances
Date: three years starting 1 October 2008
Open to: degrees in a biological or environmental science subject

The post offers the possibility to study towards the qualification of PhD. The post is fixed term and is available from 1 October 2008 for three years.
