The Romanian-US Fulbright Commission announces the annual competition for the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program for mid-career professionals who have a proven track record of leadership and a public service commitment.
The Humphrey Fellowship
provides:
tuition and university fees;
monthly maintenance allowance;
round-trip international travel to the host institution.
The
Humphrey Program does not provide financial support for accompanying
dependents.
Eligible fields:
Agricultural and rural development; Communications/Journalism;
Economic development; Educational administration, planning, policy; Finance and
banking; Higher Education Administration; HIV/AIDS policy and prevention; Human
resource management; Law and human rights; Natural resources, environmental
policy and climate change; Public health policy and management; Public policy
analysis and public administration; Substance abuse education, treatment and
prevention; Teaching of English as a foreign language; Technology policy and
management; Trafficking in persons, policy and prevention; Urban and regional
planning.
Grant duration: one year of graduate-level non-degree academic coursework and professional development activities.
Eligible applicants must meet the
following criteria:
have Romanian citizenship;
hold first university
degree;
have a minimum of five years of full-time professional experience
beyond
attainment of an undergraduate/first university degree prior to
August 2011;
have demonstrated leadership qualities and a record of public
service;
have limited prior experience in the U.S.
Applicants should
not be teachers/scientists/researchers with no management or policy
responsibilities (except
teachers of English as a second language
and specialists in substance abuse prevention and
treatment).
Applicants are required to submit:
an online application form

two letters of reference, uploaded in the online application, one
of which must be from an immediate
supervisor of the applicant; the letters of reference should be
written in English or should include an English
translation;
official academic transcripts
and diplomas for all graduated levels. Documents must be accompanied
by
complete English
translations and uploaded in the online
application.
Application deadline: August 22,
2010
Only online applications will be accepted.
Incomplete applications
lead to the exclusion of the applicants from further selection
process. Only shortlist
candidates will be invited to interview
phase in September.
Note: Test vouchers for TOEFL registration
will be provided to the Romanian final nominees. Score reports will
be required prior to September 30, 2010.
